New business website checklist: what to do in your first month
You just registered your business. Here is the order to set up your web presence so customers can find you.
Week 1: the basics
Register your domain, set up a business email on it, and claim the business name on Google, Facebook and Instagram. Pick the phone number you will use publicly.
Week 1: Google Business Profile
Create the profile as soon as you have a real service area or address. Verification can take days. Guide.
Week 2: a simple website
Home, services, about, contact. Say what you do, where, your license and insurance if you have them, and how to reach you. You do not need a big site to start.
Week 2: photos
Take real photos of your work, truck, tools or team. Six good ones beat twenty stock images.
Week 3: ask for the first reviews
After each job, ask happy customers for a Google review. Send them the direct link.
Week 4: get listed
Apple Maps, Bing Places, Yelp, and one or two directories for your trade.
